Stephen’s entrepreneurial background began while attending Mount Royal University, when he started making automotive videos for the internet by working with companies such as Porsche, Jaguar Land Rover, BMW, Volkswagen and MINI. Seeing an opportunity, he then grew it into Project 7 Media Group Inc., a media company focused on video production and marketing which primarily produced medical training and education videos in conjunction with University of Calgary, Alberta Health Services and the Libin Cardiovascular Institute of Alberta, as well as the Government of Guyana in South America.
After growing Project 7, Stephen took on a new challenge in starting Theory Capital Partners Inc in 2017. Initially as a corporate advisory firm, he was able to assist entrepreneurs and small-to-mid-market business owners in not only acquiring financing for a wide array of purposes but to guide them in the process of generating pitch decks, board governance, marketing to prospective customers and other businesses and management techniques. Stephen also took great pride in developing Theory’s business into a private equity/convertible debt financing firm at the beginning of 2019.
After working in private equity from 2022-2023, Stephen restarted Theory Capital's advisory business with the goal of once again providing small-to-medium sized businesses with strategic and financing acquisition services.
Stephen is also proud to be a Co-Chair of the Advisory Board for the ‘Raising Spirits’ annual charity fundraiser in Calgary in support of the Alberta Children’s Hospital, having raised well over $300K since 2017 towards child and adolescent mental health initiatives.
As of February 2024, Stephen has joined the board for the Risk Management Association - Alberta Chapter. This organization facilitates events focused around networking and further education in the industry.
